Pak Hajj App Update: How to Change Your Package, Choose a Room and Cancel for a Refund (Hajj 2027)
Successful Hajj applicants can now switch between long and short packages, choose a room type, and request a refund when canceling through the Pak Hajj App.
Medical certificates and mahram or helper requests can also be handled digitally. The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced the update on 27 September 2026.
Most reports listed the features and moved on. This guide covers what happens after you tap the button, including three things the announcement leaves open.

Switching packages: read the price first
The long package runs about 40 days and costs Rs1,200,000. The short package runs 20 to 25 days and costs Rs1,300,000. The shorter trip is the more expensive one, by Rs100,000.
Only 30,000 seats are reserved for the short package, and payments stop once that quota fills. The announcement as reported does not say how the price gap is collected or what happens if the short quota is already full. Call the ministry helpline before you switch.
Cancelling: check your IBAN before you press anything
The refund is credited directly to the bank account linked to your IBAN, and a cancelled application cannot be restored. The ministry says the facility is for genuine necessity.
None of the ministry notices state how long a refund takes or whether anything is deducted. Confirm the IBAN on your application is correct first. Then cancel only through the app or the official portal.
How to upload your medical certificate
A medical fitness certificate is compulsory under Saudi instructions. Pilgrims living in Pakistan need a doctor registered with the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to verify the form.
- Open the Pak Hajj App or Hajj Portal and download the medical form.
- Print it.
- Take it to a PMDC-registered doctor.
- Ask the doctor to complete and verify it.
- Upload the verified certificate again through the app or online portal.
Keep the original with your travel documents.
Overseas Pakistanis can get the certificate from a doctor near where they live and upload it through the app.
Choosing your room
You can pick a two-bed room, a three-bed room, a family room for four to six people, or shared accommodation. Travelling with parents or children? The family room is the option built for you.
Applying for a mahram or helper
The hardship quota lets a successful applicant add a mahram, or lets a disabled or elderly pilgrim add one helper. Approval depends on available places, and no number of places has been published. Apply early and do not treat it as guaranteed.
Private scheme pilgrims and scam warnings
Private scheme bookings run through the National IT Board’s digital portal. The ministry says 26,000 applications are complete and 45,000 seats remain. It warns against any booking or payment outside the official portal.
