Friday Sermon

Schools are opening back up all over the Muslim world. And on a recent Friday, Sheikh Dr. Abdulbari bin Awad Al-Thubaiti — the imam and khateeb at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina — gave a whole sermon about it. Not the boring “study hard, get good grades” kind of talk. Something bigger. He said learning…

Friday sermon at Masjid al-Haram, Makkah, delivered by His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Osama bin Abdullah Khayyat — Rabi’ Al-Awwal 22, 1448 AH / September 4, 2026 Quick question: when you think about “getting stuff” — money, food, a nice home, good friends — who do you think is actually in charge of all that? This…

Most khutbahs about the new academic year stick to the obvious: study hard, respect your teachers, don’t waste the year Allah gave you. This one went somewhere deeper. Delivering the Friday sermon from the pulpit of Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Madinah, Sheikh Dr. Ali bin Abdul Rahman Al-Hudhaifi didn’t treat education as a school-supplies-and-timetables kind of…

There is a moment in almost every khutbah where the speaker says something that could apply to any Friday, any year, any congregation. This one wasn’t that. Sheikh Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais stood at the pulpit of the Masjid ul Haram and told the worshippers in front of him and, by extension, the Ummah watching from…

Every Friday, believers gather to recalibrate their hearts, seeking timeless wisdom to navigate the complexities of modern life. In a Friday sermon from the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah (1448-03-01H), the Sheikh Khalid Muhanna took on a virtue most people flatten into a single word: shy. That’s not what Haya’ means. And the sermon spent most…

Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Abdullah Al-Humaid, Imam and Khateeb of the Grand Mosque, delivered this Friday’s khutbah in Makkah, 1 Rabi al-Awwal 1448 AH, corresponding to August 14, 2026. Before the sermon turned to dreams, it started somewhere quieter: the inner self. Real strength, the sheikh said, doesn’t announce itself. It sits in Taqwa, that…

That was the starting point of this week’s khutbah at Masjid An Nabawi in…

Sheikh Faisal bin Jamil Ghazawi, Imam and Khateeb of Masjid ul Haram | Friday, 24 Safar 1448 AH (7 August 2026) Today’s Friday Sermon (Khutbah) on 7 August 2026 at the Masjid Ul Haram came from Sheikh Faisal bin Jamil Ghazawi, and it was all about brotherhood. Not the “we are all friends” kind. The…
